SIENNA Laser Wire Strippers: Unequalled Damage-Free, High-Quality Wire Stripping

No Blades – No Nicks – No Conductor Damage

The SIENNA family of laser wire stripping systems has been developed to meet the requirements of a wide range of electrical manufacturing applications for no nick damage free wire stripping:

SIENNA 210S

The SIENNA 200 - a low cost general purpose CO2 laser wire stripper, available in both single and dual axis stripping configurations. The SIENNA 200 is suitable for most industrial applications requiring stripping of fine gauge wire and cable.more information
SIENNA 220SR The SIENNA 220SR - a Nd:YAG laser based system for cutting shields (screens) on coaxial and micro-coaxial cable assemblies and other similar applications.more information
SIENNA 300 The SIENNA 300 - a higher powered version of the 200 series for industrial applications requiring stripping of wire and cable with heavier and tougher insulation types.
SIENNA 510 The SIENNA 500 - uses a unique patented rotary system, The SIENNA 500 is suitable for stripping large gauge wire up to 25mm (1 inch) diameter, aerospace and telecommunications (RF) wire and multi-conductor cable jackets.more information
Magnet Wire Stripper The SIENNA MWS (Magnet Wire Stripper) - a unique Nd:YAG laser based system for the high-speed removal of enamel coatings from both small and large gauge magnet wire used in the automotive, power electronics and other industries.

Other Services

The SIENNA series of laser wire strippers offers fast, selective removal of wire insulation without damage to metal conductors, providing unrivalled levels of quality, consistency and productivity. Spectrum Technologies laser wire strippers are unmatched in their ability to strip very fine wires used in high value electrical and electronic assemblies, or large gauge wires used in power and RF (radio frequency) applications commonly used in the aerospace and telecommunications industries, as well as providing advanced solutions for demanding applications in other industry sectors such as medical, automotive.

For a more detailed discussion of laser wire stripping; including its development and the wire types with which it may be used, please see laser wire stripping.

SIENNA systems are used extensively across the world by a range of leading electronics’ manufacturers, providing maximum strip quality and proving their value many times over in terms of increased quality, productivity and cost savings.

Whatever your application, we can provide a SIENNA product to meet your needs!

We are very happy for you to send us your wire samples to process. Please contact us at sales@spectrumtech.com with your enquiry.

SIENNA 210S

The SIENNA 210S is a single axis system with a scan area (stripping area) of 100 mm (4 inches), suitable for end stripping a wide variety of wire and cable types. Both ribbon cables and single core wires can be stripped; single core wires may be grouped and stripped simultaneously in batches within the scan area to maximise productivity.

SIENNA 210D

The SIENNA 210D is a dual axis CO2 laser system that provides a higher level of functionality - moving the laser beam in two directions, thus giving two axes of movement. this additional capability allows the machine to perform a cross-cut and slit operation to aid slug removal and window strips to form terminations in the centre of the wire or cable. The standard scan area is 100mm x 100mm (4 inch x 4 inch).

The SIENNA 210D also has the flexibility to adapt to a variety of wire and cable sizes and shapes with the added ability to strip both common and complex wire insulators.

Both systems are easily programmed via the front panel keypads; however a computer software interface is also provided which allows for programming via a PC, thus enabling a large number of wire file programs to be created and stored.

  • Strips various wire configurations such as:
    • Single wire
    • Twin lead
    • Twisted pairs
    • Coaxial
    • Ribbon cables
  • Processes multiple wires or cables simultaneously
    • Laser strips high temperature, hard or soft insulation materials
    • Performs end strips and cross cuts

We would be pleased to discuss your particular requirements or process your wire samples, and advise on the most appropriate model.

Marking

CAPRIS 50-100 UV laser wire and cable marker:
the World’s first bench top UV laser wire marker

The CAPRIS 50-100 is the latest development from Spectrum Technologies, the world leader in the design and manufacture of UV laser wire marking and processing systems. It has been developed specifically to provide an affordable replacement to hot stamp wire marking, which is considered an aggressive marking process and unsuitable for current thin wall aerospace wires in particular.

The CAPRIS 50-100 is a radical development in UV solid state laser wire marking technology, featuring all the benefits of Spectrum’s market leading CAPRIS wire marking systems packaged into a bench top system. Designed for the processing of single core wires and multicore cables employed in the aerospace and other key industries, the CAPRIS 50-100 provides mark, measure and cut capabilities for wires from 26 AWG up to 6 AWG. The system is designed for total simplicity: data is input via the membrane key pad and wires are easily loaded for processing; wire changes require no alteration to the wire transport or marking system.

Marking a single character at a time, the CAPRIS 50-100 provides maximum print flexibility, allowing for up to 60 characters per identification code in both horizontal and vertical print formats.

The system employs solid state laser technology and requires no day to day consumables and only simple routine maintenance. Significant cost benefits are achieved by comparison to the use of direct ink marking methods and sleeve markers, through increased system utilisation and productivity, reduced set up and maintenance times, reduced consumable usage and the availability of production aids, which further increase productivity and reduce labour costs.

CAPRIS 50-100 brings UV laser wire marking equipment costs down to the level of hot stamp wire markers for the first time. In addition the direct wire and cable identification costs are about 1% of those of heat shrink sleeve identification methods.

Typical applications include aircraft maintenance and modification centres, low volume harness production, cellular manufacturing and rework.

  • Non aggressive UV laser marking, no insulation damage
  • Complies with SAE AS50881, no need for insulation integrity testing after marking
  • Ultimate mark performance resists hot hydraulic fluid, fuel, abrasion
  • No pre or post treatment of wire, identification marks remain clear and legible in service
  • Highly legible print - ergonomic font complies fully with SAE ARP 5607 “Legibility of Print on Aerospace Wires and Cables”
  • Fully integrated mark measure and cut system, simple system set-up, optional connection to host database
  • Universal anvil accommodates full range of wire and cable diameters - no set up
  • Rapid wire changeover in less than 30 seconds
  • No day to day consumables
  • Speeds downstream harness manufacture, reduces errors
  • Simplifies manufacturing, increasing productivity and reduces costs
  • Low direct operating costs
